Food from a grill can be an exceptionally pleasant part of your summertime routine. For many, it doesn’t matter if it’s charcoal or gas, as long as it’s grilled. While we’re not going to give you recipes or pro tips on how to achieve the perfect char on your steak, there are some things that we’d recommend when it comes to using your grill safely and in a way that will not damage your home.
- Keep the surrounding area clear. The immediate proximity of a grill can contain a lot of hazards. There’s radiant heat, smoke, and carbon monoxide, among other things. These can be dangerous to your health and can damage your home if the grill is used too close to buildings or other objects.
- Keep your grill in good shape. This is especially important for gas grills, since there are extra parts like hoses and seals.
- Let your grill cool down. If you’re putting it indoors or even if you’re just putting a cover on it, let it cool down first.
